WE WENT SEARCHING FOR HERMES ON MOUNTAINS CRAVING FOR GIRLS' LEGS
WHAT WE FOUND WAS WOODEN BAIT FOR FIRE NOT ONE BRANCH WITH NESTS
OUR GENES UNDESIRED OUR MOTHERS NEVER MADE LOVE ON TIME
SO SAVIOUR CAME NOT WHEN WAITING WE STOOD FACING THE SUNSET

LET'S THINK LIKE KINGS IF NO KING IS READY TO BE CROWNED I SAID
HERMES HAD BOUNDARIES AND BOUNDARIES ARE A PRINCE'S BEST FRIEND
OUR THOUGHTS DIMINISHED SEGREGATION NEVER HAPPENS UNDER LIGHT
SO WE'LL WEAR THE HORIZON SUCKLE COLOURS FROM THE SUN'S BREASTS

WE WENT SEARCHING FOR HERMES WITH ARROWS KIND TO HUMAN FLESH
WE THOUGHT WE WOULD RETURN TO LOVERS WITH GOOD STORIES TO TELL
BUT WE NEVER LEARNED THAT SHARING A TALE IS NO LESS THAN A CRIME
HERMES WOULD COME AND LEAVE BUT NEVER STAY AT NIGHT FOR BED

WE CAME IN PEACE TO DECLARE WAR ON THE PAST WE CAN NOT SHED
SWORN EVERLASTING SURVIVAL UNDER THE BLUE WE SEEMINGLY HELD
BEFRIENDED NOCTURNAL BEINGS AND WENT BACK TO THE CITY SUBLIME
AND THE LACK OF LOVE REMINDS US THAT HERMES SANG MELODIES IN HELL

Hermes was the patron of boundaries in ancient Greece, he was also the god of thieves, of literature and of sports. I'd be surprised with how much of a balanced mind, body and soul he must have and yet, this grandiosity of activities he was responsible for made me unsure of where does he really stand and what is his definition of each. Hermes could write poems and play sports at the same time, but which field was the closest to him? No one could ever know, and so, we learn to understand why he was the patron of boundaries after all.
